Catfoss Shortlisted For Offsite Construction Awards 2019 As State-Of-The-Art Building Catches The Judges’ Eyes
Catfoss has been shortlisted for an industry award.
The annual Offsite Construction Awards celebrate the very best in precision building design and delivery.
In each of the categories, judges look for outstanding examples of pre-fabrication and factory-based methods of construction.
Prizes are awarded across a number of categories, each aimed at illustrating the many benefits of offsite design and manufacture.
We’re thrilled to reveal that out of more than 200 entrants, Catfoss has been successfully shortlisted amongst the five finalists in the Commercial Project of the Year category.
Ground Breaking Design
Our shortlisted entry is based on the state-of-the-art building we designed, manufactured and installed for the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in 2018.
Over the past few years, MTC has experienced rapid growth and demands for space have increased to such an extent that in 2018, we were invited to present our ideas for how we could supply a modern and exciting solution.
The brief required us to design something that is sympathetic to the aesthetic of the current buildings on the site, but also breaks new ground, enhancing the campus and reinforcing MTC’s image as a forward-thinking design and technology organisation.
As well as this, we were required to deliver the project quickly, as space was not just at a premium, but was close to becoming a major issue for the centre.
On Time And On Budget
As the client was already familiar with our work, the design, costing and timeline we presented was quickly approved.
Soon after, work began manufacturing the building itself and making preparations for installation.
The whole project was completed in May 2018. The installation of the entire three-storey building took only two weeks to install, with fitout being completed over a number of weeks thereafter.
The end result is a fantastic building that not only fulfils the brief, but also proves just how effective off-site construction can be as a solution to companies looking for additional space.
We’re enormously proud to have delivered such a state-of-the-art project for the Manufacturing Technology Centre and are over the moon for it to have been recognised in the Offsite Construction Awards 2019.
The winners of the Commercial Project of the Year category will be announced at the award ceremony, taking place on 5th March 2019 at ExCeL in London. We’ll be there to see how we get on. So, be sure to keep your fingers crossed.
